Friday at Art Santa Fe: The Fun Continues
The second day at the 16th edition of Art Santa Fe was smooth and steady, with attendees enjoying the vast array of paintings, glassworks, sculpture—including the stunning equine imaginings of one of this year’s Spotlight Artists, Siri Hollander—and more on display at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center. For a full roster of the 50+ galleries and studio artists showcasing their work at the show this weekend, check out our Exhibitor List.
What’s on the schedule for today, you ask? There are several Meet the Artist sessions and live art demonstrations to look forward to—check the full schedule to see who’s participating when. There are also two Art Talks to enjoy today, giving you a chance to kick back and rest your feet in the Art Talk Area while hearing inspiring stories from our great exhibitors:
- Evolving Into Art, 3:30 pm
Does every artist start their career as an artist, or do their other life experiences lead them to becoming highly successful when they pursue their artistic careers later on? Join watercolor artist Teena Robinson, contemporary landscape painter Mary Johnston, and photographer Grace Berge as they share their stories.
- Sculpture Diversity, 5:30 pm
Meet and learn the story behind the work of three dynamic sculpture artists—figurative sculptor Andrea Broyles, equine sculpture artist Siri Hollander, and porcelain sculptor Heidi Loewen.
Attendees are also enjoying the two Art Labs taking place at the show, sponsored by Contemporary Art Projects USA. Art Lab 1, Horizons: Through the Cloud Forest, features ethereal silk paintings by Jorge Cavelier and is open throughout the full show hours, while Art Lab 2, Art Through the Lens of a Child, is an interactive experience for kids based on artwork and a children’s book by Kelly Fischer. Art Lab 2, co-sponsored by the Santa Fe Children’s Museum, will take place at 2:00 today and tomorrow in the venue’s courtyard. Make sure to stop by!
