Artist Bio:
Charles Baker Strahan is a self taught artist living in LA. Drawing inspiration from cubism, graffiti, contemporary and street art he creates figurative art with visually intriguing narratives.
“To me a black line creates a form of visual certainty, in exploring cubism and multiple perspectives on the same plane I thought about how we as humans compartmentalize our experiences. In this way abstracted planes of the face in my work presents a mask by which the character faces the world done in “shades of gray” with the sensory elements either further abstracted or made far more literal to denote the truth behind the mask and the black line the separates it all underpins the relationship with and the human desire to create certainty.”
