Photopainting is hybrid form which allows me to combine my photographic and painting experience to create images in a nearly infinite range of styles.
All inspired by 25 years of enjoying an astonishing variety of abstract art in the museums and galleries while living in New York City.
The resulting images fall into 3 categories:
- images created by photographing a light source or sources
- images which emulate and pay homage to abstract painting and painters, and
- images in the surrealist tradition which I think of as “studies for an alternate reality”.
